Hip hip hooray! The IIT department did manage to fix my laptop! Even better... They managed to save my files.

Of course, the news can't be all good - I did lose all of my programs. I have do get Photoshop, Apophysis, even Word all over again. I can't dare complain, though. lol I'm just thrilled that all of my files were saved. IIT had to take out my hard drive and put it on a spare computer and the reinstall windows. I was just taken aback by the wonderful service and care they took in repairing my babeh.

So, as far as art goes, I'm kind of stuck as far as my symmetry art goes. I'll get photoshop back on the lappy eventually... I just don't know when. However, with limitations comes creativity. I'm currently working on a painting where I'm attempting to incorporate my symmetry art into a traditional work. I'm looking forward to seeing the results, but am not sure how well it will turn out... Either way, you all will see it sometime soon.
Speaking of traditional art... I really need to take some pictures of and upload the stuff I've been doing for art class. Learning all these techniques and such has me tickled pink and I'm very proud of the charcoal still lifes that I've done in Drawing I. Painting I is a slightly different story... Don't get me wrong - The class is amazing and tons of fun, but I'm kinda terrible at painting. lol We are working with palette knifes now... Oh boy, my stuff looks terrible. xD
I've gotten a pretty good response on my poll regarding a contest... And it seems that there could be a genuine interest... So, if I do a contest, I'm pretty sure I'm going to see what people can do with the symmetry art process that I've outlined in this tutorial:
[link] Of course, this tutorial is just a guideline. From step one there are things that you can do differently than listed in the tut and still get the symmetry art affect. I haven't sat down and thought out official guidelines or anything, but creativity with the process would probably be the most important judging factor. I'm going to need a couple of judges and other things (like prize donations) before this is official and I'd like to know if this is something you guys would like to enter. Just leave a comment and let me know.

In random news - We got snow on Sunday! I live in north east Georgia and we rarely see snow... And it snowed for practically 12 hours straight on Sunday. o.o Literally, in 20 years of life, I had never seen this much snow. I spent a good portion of the day just staring out of the window in awe. I

snow. Some of it still hasn't melted... It's so awesome.

Again, it's been awhile since I've updated, so there are more 'recent favs' than usual. Please give these very worthy artists some attention!!
